Call for Participation for IGDA Toronto Spring Gala
As you may already be aware, the IGDA Toronto chapter has a renewed energy and focus this year to support our local game community. Our goal is to be inclusive of all, and to celebrate our incredibly diverse group of developers and game-oriented organizations, which includes celebrating you and your achievements!
We are currently accepting proposals to participate in this year’s IGDA Toronto Spring Gala on the evening of May 9th, 2011 at the TIFF Bell Lightbox, hosted by Electric Playground’s Shaun Hatton. The Spring Gala will showcase a collection of local developers and organizations to a theatre of over 200 attendees. Each presenter will have approximately 5-10 minutes to introduce themselves and exhibit some aspect of their organization to the rest of our community. If you are not able to prepare a presentation, you can elect to participate in an on-stage interview with our host, Shaun Hatton. We hope that the Spring Gala will reflect our shared passion and enthusiasm for games, and will be an occasion where we can all be proud of our collective successes.
We would appreciate if you could submit your application by April 15, 2011. It will be reviewed by the IGDA Toronto Chapter Committee and Advisors, and you will be contacted by April 20, 2011 to confirm your participation. Ideally, we will be able to accept all proposals, however due to time constraints, we will need to restrict the number of presenters. Should you not be selected, we would still love for you to join us that night as guests in our audience. Our goal in our final selection of presenters is to represent a broad cross-section of our local game community, from all corners of the GTA and surrounding areas.
